A knowledge assistant for companies
The AI assistant that answers from your company documents
Upload your company documents, then ask anything in plain language. Askara answers from what those documents actually say, shows you the passage it came from, and tells you straight when the answer is not there.
The demo runs on sample documents. Want to try it on your own? Get in touch.
How much notice do I need to give for annual leave?
Annual leave must be requested at least 14 calendar days before the intended start date, and approved by your direct manager. For leave longer than five working days, the notice period becomes 30 days.1

- 2 Leave Request SOP (rev. 3), page 2
What is the travel budget for the Surabaya office?
I could not find anything about that in the uploaded documents.
What Askara is
One place to ask, with answers that are accurate, sourced and honest
Askara is an AI assistant that answers your team’s questions straight from your company documents. Upload them once, then ask anything in plain language.
Grounded in your documents
Askara answers only from the documents you upload. Not a general guess from the internet, and not model knowledge you have no way to check.
Shows its sources
Every answer links back to the document it came from, so anyone can open it and check for themselves before acting on it.
Honest when it does not know
If the answer is not in your documents, Askara says so. This is the part most tools skip, and it is the part that decides whether any answer can be trusted at all.
The problem it solves
Company knowledge is scattered, and finding it costs time
Finding the right answer takes time, often misses, and leaves teams dependent on the few people who happen to know.
- 20%
- of the working week is spent looking for information.
- 48%
- of employees struggle to find the documents they need.
- 56%
- of employees have to ask a colleague to find an answer.
Sources: McKinsey Global Institute (2012), Adobe (2023), Atlassian State of Teams (2025).
And the cost compounds: time lost, decisions made on out-of-date information, and compliance risk when the version someone worked from was not the current one.
How it works
Four steps, and nothing anyone has to learn
-
1
Upload documents
Upload PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Markdown and plain-text (.txt) files into a secure library. A .zip archive works too, and is unpacked file by file.
-
2
Askara reads and organises them
Each document is read and its contents organised so they are ready to search. Scanned documents are read with automatic text recognition.
-
3
Ask a question
Ask in plain language, typed or spoken, without needing to know which document holds the answer.
-
4
Get an answer
Answers come back short, with links to the source documents, so they can be checked on the spot.
Simple for the people using it. Your documents stay in storage that your own company controls.
Why Askara is different
Plenty of tools can answer from a document
Askara is built for what a company actually needs: accurate in your own context, measurable, and entirely under your control.
| Aspect | General document tools | Askara |
|---|---|---|
| Accuracy on your documents | Generic answers, as-is | Tuned to your terminology and policies |
| When there is no answer | No guarantee one is not invented | Says so plainly, and records the gap |
| Answer quality | Hard to measure | Measured on a dashboard, and improved from feedback |
| Data and privacy | Whatever the provider allows | In your environment, documents stay yours |
| Access and compliance | Limited sharing controls | Layered roles and permissions, plus a full audit trail |
| Growth | Capped | Grows with your corpus and your teams |
A semi-finished product
A finished foundation, fitted to you
Askara is not a project built from scratch. The foundation is already built and proven, and we fit it to how your business works. You are not paying to rebuild what already exists.
Already built
- Question-and-answer that always names the document it came from
- A secure document library, with processing status on every document
- Roles, permissions and an audit trail
- Insight dashboard, answer-trust reporting and cost estimates
These core parts are built and tested, which makes a rollout faster and cheaper than starting from scratch.
Fitted to your business
- Your own documents and your own terminology
- Your team’s workflows and roles
- Integration with the systems you already run
- Language and interface adjustments
We adapt it to the way your company works: the same foundation, fitted to each business.
Key features
What you can already see today
Every item below is something you can ask us to demonstrate.
Secure document library
Many formats in one place, each with a clear processing status. The same document cannot be added twice, because it is recognised by its contents, not by its filename.
Scanned documents still readable
Scanned PDFs that are really just images are read with automatic text recognition, page by page, including password-protected PDFs when the password is supplied.
Sourced answers
Every answer links back to its document through a numbered citation, so it can be opened and checked instead of taken on trust.
Knowledge gaps get recorded
Questions the documents could not answer are collected on the dashboard, so you know which documents to add, not just that something is missing.
Several conversations at once
Conversations can run side by side, each with its own history. A file can be attached to just one of them without entering the shared library.
Ask by voice
Questions can be spoken instead of typed. Useful on site, in a warehouse, or any time both hands are busy.
Answers that improve from corrections
Someone flags an answer that missed, whoever maintains the documents reviews it, and the correction becomes a knowledge note used for the next answer.
Roles and audit trail
Layered permissions decide who may see and do what. Menus and actions someone is not entitled to are hidden, not just refused on click. Changes to audited records are logged, along with sign-in history and failed attempts.
Insight dashboard
Questions asked, the share of answers backed by a source, documents that failed to process, and the knowledge gaps: all on one screen.
Where it is used
The questions that land on somebody else’s desk every day
People / HR
“How much leave do I have left this year, and how do I request it?”
Answered straight from the handbook and the SOP, with sources, and without going through the HR team.
Finance & Compliance
“What is the spending limit I can approve without going to the board?”
Staff check spending limits and reimbursement procedures for themselves. Consistent answers leave less room to get it wrong.
Sales & Product
“Does this work with the system the customer already uses?”
Sales answers specification and availability questions from the product catalogue quickly, while still in front of the customer.
Customer Support
“What is the replacement procedure for a faulty unit under warranty?”
Agents find the answer in the internal knowledge base, with a reference to the official document. Replies come back faster, and they read the same every time.
Legal & Contracts
“Which of our contracts contain a limitation-of-liability clause?”
Search clauses and terms across a body of contracts, with references back to the original so anything can be traced again later.
Operations & Onboarding
“What is the first step if line two stops unexpectedly?”
Staff reach SOPs and technical manuals without hunting for them first. New joiners can ask as much as they like during onboarding without waiting for a senior colleague.
Security & control
Your documents, in your environment
Askara runs in an environment you choose, and works on documents that stay yours.
Your data stays yours
Documents stay in storage you nominate. To answer a question, only the passages needed for it are sent to the AI model provider. Askara does not use your documents to train any model.
Layered access control
Roles and permissions decide who can see and do what. Menus and actions someone is not entitled to do not appear at all, rather than failing once clicked.
A detailed audit trail
Changes to audited records are logged: who, when, and what changed. Sign-in history and failed sign-in attempts are kept as well. Which records are covered is agreed during the rollout.
Three interface languages
The interface is available in Indonesian, English and Japanese, and answers follow the language of the question. Keyword search stays accurate in Japanese too, which does not separate words with spaces.
Flexible to deploy
It runs on your own servers, or on a cloud provider you choose, close to the people using it and inside your own rules.
Cost you can see
Estimated AI cost by month, by model and by person sits inside the system. The spend is not a surprise at the end of the month.
Editions & roadmap
Start with what exists, grow as you need it
A working assistant
Upload documents and get answers that name their source. Includes the document library, several conversations at once, roles and audit trail, the insight dashboard, and cost estimates.
Broader coverage, higher accuracy
Higher accuracy, measured against test questions you help define. Includes optional single sign-on, and insights per business area.
Knowledge that keeps growing
Knowledge that grows with your team while control stays with you. Includes learning from meeting recordings and rollout across teams and countries.
The version roadmap is indicative and agreed together as your needs develop.
